Description

Explore Avaritia — Greed, reimagined from Jacques Callot’s iconic 1620s Baroque etching series Les Péchées Capitaux. Callot’s original engraving portrays a hunched figure clutching a heavy purse, a toad at their feet — the traditional symbol of avarice. The composition captures the weight of insatiable desire, a figure consumed by what they possess. 400 years later, we’ve adapted this masterwork onto premium organic cotton, preserving every stroke of the original.

The front features Callot’s original etching with “Avaritia” inscribed in period-authentic script. The back carries the “Seven Deadly Sins” typographic treatment with “Greed” in hand-drawn blackletter.

Crafted from GOTS-certified organic cotton. No harmful chemicals or toxic dyes. Natural Raw is cotton in its purest form - untreated, undyed, and naturally distinctive. Natural variations in shade occur between batches, influenced by the harvest time. Each fabric tells its own story through subtle variations in shade and texture, reflecting the authentic character of organic cotton. Made with uncleaned carded fibers for an authentic look and feel.

Limited to 500 pieces per sin. Once sold out, this design will never be reproduced.

About The Art

Discover the 7 Deadly Sins collection — Les Péchées Capitaux — where 400-year-old Baroque masterworks meet contemporary streetwear. In the 1620s, French artist Jacques Callot etched the

seven deadly sins into copper plates, creating some of the most iconic moral artwork in Western art history. Each engraving personifies a human vice through richly symbolic figures, animals, and inscriptions. Arttitude has adapted these
masterworks into wearable art, translating Callot’s intricate Baroque compositions onto premium GOTS-certified organic cotton. The result bridges four centuries of artistic tradition — garments that carry the weight of art history, ethical craftsmanship, and the edge of modern streetwear. This is not
decoration. It is a gallery you can wear.
