Our blends are exclusivey made of Supima cotton which is only grown in the United States, and is considered to be one of the softest and strongest forms of cotton. Supima is inherently softer and more luxurious due to its extra-long staple fiber extra-long staple (ELS) cotton. The length of the fiber (at least 34 millimeters) produces smoother, cleaner yarns that result in a softer fabric that resists pilling. This means that your products will feel sumptuously soft and only get softer as time passes. Its finer fibers absorb dye with a deep, long-lasting penetration. The result is a product that retains color better than regular cottons. Supima products keep their brilliance wash after wash, giving you many years of use. While Supima and Pima cotton fabrics are different products, both types of cotton are derived from fibers of the Gossypium barbadense tree, and fabrics made from this type of cotton are commonly used in high-end consumer textiles. Other upscale textiles can only be washed in cold water, but Supima and Pima cotton can be washed in warm water, and they can even be tumble dried. One of the qualities of Supima cotton that customers love the best is this fabric's resistance to pilling (pills are balls of tangled cotton fibers that appear on most cotton products as they age, and they start to appear on most cotton products after about ten washes).
Pima cotton is a type of cotton considered to be one of the superior cotton with an extra-long staple length, extremely durable and absorbent. On the other hand, Supima cotton is the brand name of the Pima cotton. Supima is a trade name used by a group of Pima cotton growers who adhere to certain standards of quality and labeling. Luxury Brands using Supima include Gucci, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Bottega Veneta, and Brioni. And now, a(r)ttitude.
